Curie Museum Personal Data Policy

This policy defines and informs you of how Institut Curie, a foundation recognized as being of public utility located at 26 rue d'Ulm, 75005 Paris, France, which hosts the Curie Museum (support and research unit), uses and protects your personal data that we may process and collect when you browse the Curie Museum website. We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, without prior notice. Therefore, we invite you to consult it regularly.
Institut Curie may ask you to provide certain Personal Data (as defined in section 2 below). By providing this Personal Data, you expressly consent to our processing it for the purposes indicated in section 3 below “Purposes pursued.” If you refuse, you may not be able to benefit from certain information or services offered by the Curie Museum website.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 adopted by the European Parliament on April 14, 2016 (hereinafter "GDPR") and the French Data Protection Act No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 as amended, Institut Curie informs you of the following points:

2. Collected Personal Data
The Personal Data referred to below originate from:

- The contact forms available on the Curie Museum website (contact the museum, contact the archives, contact the collections managers, contact the museum for press and professionals): email address, name, phone number.
- Data collected via cookies (see section 8 and our Cookie Statement[CA1] ).
3. Purposes of Processing
We collect and process your Personal Data for the following purposes:

- To respond to your contact requests, whatever their purpose (scheduling an appointment, requesting archive consultation, managing your visit reservations, etc.);
- To personalize content and advertisements, provide social media features, and analyze our traffic.
- Where appropriate, to manage any potential dispute involving us.
4. Processing Operations
For the purposes stated in section 3 above, we carry out the following processing operations: collection, recording, deletion.
5. Retention Period
Your data is processed by Institut Curie and will be immediately deleted from our active database once your request has been processed. The retention period for your data may be longer in case of a litigation risk to ensure the defense of our interests.
6. Recipients
Your Personal Data may be communicated to the following recipients, when such communication is necessary to achieve one of the purposes mentioned in section 3:

- Third-party application maintenance providers, software service providers, and hosting providers ([company names]);
- In case of litigation, to investigators, legal advisors, collection agencies, bailiffs, lawyers, notaries, and, if applicable, the parties to the dispute.
7. Exercise of Rights
When the processing of your Personal Data is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
You have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your data, and to restrict or object to the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, you may send your request to dpo@curie.fr. You also have the right to file a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL).
8. Cookies
